Pakistan’s young talent and nephew of Inzamam-ul-Haq (former Captain of Pakistan) will celebrate his 22nd birthday today, 12 Dec 2017. Pakistani batsman Imam-ul-Haq achieved a unique feat on his ODI debut with a splendid 100 against Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi and with that became the 2nd for Pakistan and 13th overall to score a century on his debut ODI.
The 21-year-old, who was included in the squad as replacement of out-of-form Ahmad Shahzad, smashed two sixes and stroked four boundaries to score 100 off 125 deliveries to become only 2nd Pakistani to score a century on his debut ODI.
Imam joined Saleem Elahi from Pakistan in the club of centurions on debut, which now has 13 members from around the world.
Saleem scored 102* in September 1995 at Gujranwala, also against Sri Lanka, to become Pakistan’s first player to score a century on debut. Imam-ul-Haq wasn’t even born when Elahi achieved this feat.
Imam is the top order, the left-hand batsman in Pakistani squad.
Imam appeared in his first-class debut on Jan 31, 2013 against Hyderabad while playing from Lahore Shalimar at Lahore Qaddafi stadium and his last First class was Lahore Blues v Habib bank limited at Karachi, Dec 11, 2017.
Imam appeared in his List A debut in khan research laboratories v National Bank at Karachi stadium Jan 30, 2015 and last list A match was Pakistan v Sri Lanka at Sharjah stadium Oct 23, 2017,
Lahore Lions v Abbottabad Falcons was imam’s T20s debut at Lahore Dec 2, 2012 and his last T20s till date was Lahore Blues v Lahore Whites at Rawalpindi Nov30,2017
