Kevin Pietersen’s blazing 42-ball 88 demolished Lahore Qalandars, as Quetta romp to victory at Sharjah with seven wickets to spare.
Chasing 203 to win – the highest ever total posted by any team in the second edition of the PSL, Quetta started off poorly as both of their openers Shahzad(15) and Saad(6) failed to provide any momentum to the run-chase. Rile Rossouw uplifted Gladiators’ hopes with his quickfire 33 off 18 but it was Kevin Pietersen, the former England International, who stole the show with his scintillating power hitting.
A decisive 101-run stand between the skipper Sarfraz Ahmed(45) and England veteran saw Gladiators home with five wickets intact and top the points table with 3 wins in 5 matches.
Earlier Jason Roy(51), Fakhar Zaman(47) and Mohammad Rizwan(46) helped Lahore pile a mountain of runs for Quetta to climb.
