Umar Akmal struck a blistering 66 to help Lahore to victory, as they beat Islamabad United by one wicket to clinch a last-over thriller at Sharjah stadium on Tuesday (February 21).
Chasin 145 to win, Qalandars top order misfired as Delport(12), MacCullum(11) and Zaman(6) got out cheaply. But the late contributions from Umar Akmal, who scored 66 from 42 balls, and Grand Elliot(26) were just enough to hand them a win and also the second position in the points table.
Rumman Raees was the pick of the bowlers of United as he claimed 3-26, while the young leg-spinner Shadab Khan once again chipped in with two wickets to continue his consistent run.
