Kieron Pollard smashed two sixes off the final two balls to keep Karachi Kings alive in the tournament, as they clinch the thriller by 5 wickets at the Dubai International Stadium on Saturday(February 25).

Chasing 156 for victory, it took a special knock from Pollard, 45 off just 20 deliveries at a blazing rate of 225, to sustain Karachi and throw the competition wide open. With 10 required off the final two balls, he smashed Hasan Ali for two consecutive, decisive sixes to complete a memorable win.

Babar Azam also contributed a vital 49, as he held the innings together from the other end.

Earlier, Lahore Qalandars had managed 155 from their 20 overs, mainly due to the contributions from their skipper Brendon MacCullum, who scored 31 off 28 balls. Late cameos from Mohammmad Rizwan(32) and Sohail Tanvir(22) propelled Qalandars to a respectable total, after things had slowed down in the middle part of the innings.

With this win, Karachi has now six points and are situated at the fourth position in the points table, just ahead of Lahore who are at fifth. Lahore will be hoping that Islamabad beat Karachi in the next game with a margin that would take them ahead to fourth postition and playoffs.
