A fighting 60 from 45 balls from Rile Rossouw, which included 3 fours and 2 sixes, and some restrictive spin bowling has helped Quetta clinch a thriller victory over the off-color Lahore Qalandars in the second match of the PSL 2017 at the Dubai Stadium.

Chasing a modest 137 to win, Qalandars bundled out for just 128 on an increasingly friendlier batting surface to hand Gladiators a win by 8 runs. Jason Roy top scored with 27, while Sunil Narine and Grand Elliot managed 26 in their doomed pursuit of 137.

But they look well on course when Jason Roy and Brendon MaCcullum started the run chase all guns blazing, both contributing in the twenties before being accounted by Zulfiqar Babar. Later, Hassan Khan, who received Man of the Match award, and Mohammad Nawaz, last year’s PSL sensation, stranded Lahore with a tight leg-middle line to build pressure. The last 9 wickets fell for just 2

The last year’s finalists have now hit the ground running. They have joined Islamabad United at the top of the table, who have also earned the first available point to position themselves at the top of the table.
