Shehan Madushanka, who played just three first-class games and three List A games, added to Sri Lanka squad for tri-series in Bangladesh involving Zimbabwe. Angelo Mathews will take over as captain from Thisara Perera in the 16-man squad.
Dinesh Chandimal too has returned to the Sri Lanka squad for the series.
“He’s got pace and you can’t coach that,” Sri Lanka’s newly appointed coach Chandika Hathurusingha said on Tuesday (January 9). “When we go to the next World Cup, we’ll need about seven or eight fast bowlers who have played at least 15 ODIs each. We’ve chosen Madushanka as a player we might use in the long-term.”Dinesh Chandimal too has returned to the squad for the series.
