Steve O’Keefe and Nathan Lyon skittle India for 107 in the second innings on day three of the 1st Test match in Pune, as they secured a record-breaking 333-run win over the hosts on Saturday(February 25).
Australia entered this match having lost their previous nine Tests in Asia. Also, the last time they had beaten India in India was over 9 years ago, in 2004. Yet they not only managed to beat India, they thrashed them.
On a dry, sluggish surface that was expected to assist India’s spinners, O’Keefe took as many wickets as Ashwin and Jadeja combined, and Steven Smith slammed the only century of the match.

Chasing an improbable 441 for victory, India bundled out for just 107 in the second innings. Pujara(31) was the only player to go past 25, while 7 players failed to go in double figures.

The 31-year-old also has the record of the best match figures by any Australia left-arm spinner and played a pivitol role in Australia decimating India in both innings.
