The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), on January 11, has announced the complete schedule of Pakistan tour of West Indies in the upcoming April-May season.
West Indies will host Pakistan in two t20 international matches at Sabina Park on March 31st and April 2nd respectively, which will be followed by a series of three 50-over games on April 7,9 and 11 — all of which will be played at the Guyana National Stadium.
The three Test matches are also incorporated into the tight schedule: first at Sabina Park on April 22nd, second at Kensington Oval on April 30, and third at Windsor Park on May 10.
The ODI series is of considerable importance as both teams are looking to improve their ICC ODI rank before the cut-off date (1st September 2017) for the ICC World Cup 2019; only top eight teams will be provided automatic entry.
Pakistan is currently ranked 8th in the ICC ODI rankings with 89 points, and West Indies just three points shy of Pakistan at 9th position.
